Castro de Baroña
Südlich von Porto do Son in Galizien / Galicia liegt die eisenzeitliche Siedlung Castro de Baroña. Die etwa 20 Rundhäuser wurden vor rund zweitausend Jahren von Kelten genutzt. Der Ort liegt idyllisch und relativ leicht zu verteidigen auf einer kleinen Halbinsel im Meer, die über eine Landenge mit dem Festland verbunden ist. Er ist als Kulturerbe geschützt.
Vom Parkplatz an der Straße AC-550 erreichen wir nach kurzer Wanderung durch einen Wald und über ein Felsplateau diesen faszinierenden Ort.
South of Porto do Son in Galicia lies the Iron Age settlement of Castro de Baroña. The approximately 20 roundhouses were used by Celts around two thousand years ago. The site is idyllically located and relatively easy to defend on a small peninsula in the sea, connected to the mainland by an isthmus. It is protected as a cultural heritage site.
From the car park on the AC-550 road, we reach this fascinating place after a short hike through a forest and across a rocky plateau.
